Is it really reasonable for the poor people in the society to pay taxes?

I think it's high time they review this tax paying from the poor people in order to ease the pressure on them because life itself is already dealing with them mercilessly so the government should have compassion on them and exclude them from paying taxes or it should be reduced to the minimal.

If poor people's tax is to be reviewed that means it has to do with the personal income tax, this is according to salary you earn. A certain percentage is removed from it proportional to the salary. Except it will be further reduced but the poor need to pay tax because they are beneficiaries of the social security, social amenities, social responsibilities in their country. Like they use the roads, electricity, water and other services provided by government and the money comes from taxing. If the government is corrupt and using the poor people's tax collection for personal pocket that is the bad aspect but if the government utilizes tax payers money properly, the poor require to pay tax.

But see the other type of tax that drains the pocket of the poor, that's indirect tax. Indirect tax is added in goods or products and the poor and rich both visit the market. So the rich has more money than the poor but the poor standard of living keep falling because of high cost of products, services and its inflation. There is vat in almost all consumable and also sales taxes are deducted from the products.

in the US state property tax. in the UK council tax funds services like schools, police and road maintenance.. income tax is something else that pays for other things.
maybe its better you learn what difference taxes end up funding and the work out which services/functions that get funded are needing of so much funds and if those funds are used wisely to then decide if people should be paying so much or so little

light water, gas internet are in most countries paid by private bills/invoices from utility companies.. not a tax

The rich and the poor is meant to pay tax but how do you expect the poor that are unemployed to pay their tax then they have no job they will give them the money to feed and take care of their family before thinking about tax don't you think that tax should be something that should be regulated for only those who have what is generating money for them, I knew that the government is doing projects with the tax payers money but someone who is not employed is not supposed to be among the ax payers because they are struggling and may not have enough for themselves. Living poor is not a choice you can have all the education in this life but when you are not employed you have no chance of setting up a business or doing an investment.
