65 years no be small, but the thing be say Nigeria never too old like that. If you check countries like the USA wey don dey exist for over 200 years, almost 250 self you go see say we still be young nation. E still dey make sense to call Nigeria a developing country because we still dey grow, dey learn, and dey find our feet for many areas, but still we don reach this level..
So when we dey compare ourselves with older countries, make we remember say their growth no happen overnight too, na time and consistency build am..

Our great nation Nigeria gained independence from Britain on October 1, 1960, with great hope for unity and development. However the early years were faced with challenges such as Ethnic and Religious Conflicts, political instability, military coups, Economic Challenges and the civil war. Despite these trials, Nigeria remained strong and very focused.
After a long time military rule in 1999, democracy was restored, marking a new chapter of peace, freedom, growth and development and Since then, the nation has continued to strive for more peace, development, and unity. Today, Nigeria stands as the Giant of Africa, rich in culture, diversity, and potential.

Democratic Progress: Nigeria has succeeded in maintaining a very good Democratic progress and is a very good one some African countries military rule has taken over again there by removing democracy in that nation.

Cultural Influence:  Nollywood is now the third-largest film industry in the world you can check it online and see for yourself and Nigerian music (Afrobeats) enjoys global recognition it has become the best that the world is enjoying.

Economic Growth: Nigeria became Africa’s largest economy by GDP in 2014, and they are still moving for the best we face challenges but we will come out of it.

Education Expansion: Nigeria is really growing when it comes to education, Nigeria now has over 200 universities and institutions, producing professionals across fields, in Nigeria we the people are very intelligent that is why we produce the best all over the world the best doctor are Nigeria's even though a lot of them are working in other countries because of how good they are.

This is my first post since I registered here I'm happy to be here I'm Supreme by name.

Should I really be saying happy independence? Because I don’t think there is anything to be happy about in this country, there is so much suffering in this country Nigeria, and I can’t really understand one thing that this Present government have done to better the lives of Nigerians, people are suffering in this country, and the hunger and suffering in this country is just too much in Nigeria, The country Nigeria have been something else and the citizens are suffering and tired of the suffering, I absolutely don’t think there is anything to be proud and happy about in this country Nigeria, there is nothing good about the independence celebration of Nigeria.

Nigeria is a great nation, I'm happy and proud to be a Nigerian, Nigeria is a nation that the citizens are very hard working and respectful a nation where children respect and obey their elders a nation that morality is taking to a good height a nation that does not support unnatural behavior a nation that stand with the right behavior of humans, one good thing I love about this nation is that no
matter the condition they try to become the best.
Yes I know we are facing some challenges such as insecurity, poor infrastructure, but the nation is trying all it's best to come out of it.
The only problem we are having as a nation is some few politicians who are very evil they carry out fake project they don't even complete some of their projects they are the problem we have in this country and if they can be made to be heard accountable with the law then I believe it won't be a problem anymore.

One thing I love about this country be say, no matter the challenges we face, we still dey celebrate am with joy. We all know say Naija get wahala, but still, na great nation on its own. Because truth be say, some other countries dey face bigger problems pass wetin we dey complain about here. Insecurity don become one of the major problems wey dey worry this country, and e no start today. But make we no expect say everything go just change overnight. We just dey hope say one day things go better, and all those wey dey loot go reason well and stop to dey fill their own pockets.

To celebrate Nigeria independence no mean say make we carry flag and bike dey do anyhow for street. Nobody suppose die because of celebration, and nobody go support any nonsense act. Since 2023 when we elect President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governors for different states, I believe say many of them go still leave some projects uncompleted before dem commot for office. Na why e dey hard to find quick solution to the country matter, because each new person wey enter position dey meet problem wey no be him own.

I no go lie give una, today no resemble that 1st October wey I/we been know before and for all the Independence day wey I don witness this one stand as the number one when we day talk about worse, e no follow at all. I wonder how many people listen to our president speech this morning, another lies or promises wey be failure in the next 3 to 4 months or ma say in the future... my own be say make Oga presido no go promise the one wey him no go fit fulfil and before you know teachers, NEPA, Fuel stations and even other sectors for Naija go con reason to go on strike oh, na like this e dey start...make una no vex nothing happy about this independence day.

Nigeria celebrating it's independence is like a total waste of celebration because there's is nothing to show for it,the question is what have Nigeria achieved since gaining independence? All the past leaders are the same,they will promise the masses heaven and earth during their campaigns but will never fulfill those promises,The leadership has failed  us holistically,there is poverty in the land,no jobs,no social amenities,bandits terrorizing some parts of the country through boko haram, kidnapping is the order of the day because there's no employment and empowerment schemes for the Youths.

Nigeria will be better when  the leadership changes,if someone that has good conscience and the people at heart rules, everything will work for good, imagine if there is full employment for the Youths after graduation and empowering the masses through skill acquisition and everyone is happy,the rate of crime will automatically reduce.hopefully Nigeria will be great someday.

There is no achievement, like when the country is smoothly going well, our nation Nigeria is not going the way, it ought to, in a country where majority of the citizens are groaning, is a sign that things are not working well, the economy is too tough for a common man, the politicians don't really feel the impact of the hardship in the country, I don't just see what Nigeria government has achieved in recent times, more especially in this democratic government that we are into, no peace in the country, there are rumors of killing everywhere, especially in the northern region, even the lives of our soldiers are not even protected,

There are universities all over the country, and the cost of education is extremely high, the government don't mean well for the common man, no technological advancement and our graduates are without good job, and no youth empowerment that will help the youths to go into skill , on the independence day there was no match pass, that means the country is not even celebrated, hmm the country is facing big leadership challenge.

Are we really independent? When we still print our naira in Abroad, our electral materials are printed abroad too. We still depend on foreign aide to pay salary and develop our country. We're not independent we're just a delegated authority, this is not independent we are just fooling ourselves. Since independence We are still talking about roads, electricity, water and shelter. Social Amenities are still not guaranteed, when nations are talking about AI and Bitcoin we're here talking about bad government and poor infrastructure.

Nigeria is a shadow of Independence, we're worst now than pro independence, the British was even better than us ruling ourselves. If the British was still in power they would have done better than what we have now. Nigeria is still far from what independent nation should look like. And we have no hope for better, it's really crazy, that's why many are pray they go to heaven they have no idea about because of the bad condition of Nigeria. In an independent nation where things are going well, the citizens don't pray to go to heaven, because they are living in heaven on earth, everything is working for them. Nigerians wakeup and speak truth to power.

We all know that the country is corrupt in ways we didn't expect, but we can never deny that our country hasn't been a better country, a country with the most natural resources, a country with good citizens who are happy and doing well without the government, a country where graduates don't wait for government jobs to support themselves.

And as for politicians, they are evil people and bad leaders who are making things difficult for the country. After making promises and doing many other things, they will choose to do things that will make the country look worse than before. The best way is to do your best and find something good to do that will allow you to provide for yourself without relying on the government or your certificate.

Nigeria is a great nation and we must keep believing in ourselves to do better. Independence day is being celebrated because that's was the day we became free from our colonial masters, it's a remarkable day in the life of every Nigerian. I'm proud to be a Nigerian because surviving in Nigeria needs courage and hardwork.

We have faced so many challenges thus far, there has been Christian genocide killings by Boko Haram , terrorist being on rampage, hunger and starvation in the land but in all we still stand strong and striving, no citizens of Nigeria will find it difficult to survive outside Nigeria because we have seen it all, we have endured pains, suffering,hunger and unemployment yet we keep moving without being weary. I respect every Nigerian out there hustling legitimately to change the narrative of poverty. May God bless Nigeria.
