I’ve been browsing around the forum lately and noticed that it’s pretty hard for new users to earn their first few merits i’m curious what kind of posts actually get noticed by merit sources or higher-ranked members?

Do you think the system still works as intended or has it become too slow for newcomers to rank up?
Would love to hear some honest tips from people who’ve been around longer.
If you have been navigating round as you said you shouldn't have observe that those folks with constructive and well educative post are the once getting more of merits, so if you desire same then do well to study harder, make some few research on crucial things you need to know about bitcoin related issues so that each time you write or post, your post quality and positive contributions to important issues will attract merits to you.

Patience is the easiest way to earn merits from forum to rank up. when you are patience in learning from people that know more than you in the forum it will increase your knowledge on how to contribute quality post.  continue learning from the forum I believe you will achieve your goals when it is time in the forum.
