It's an obvious thing. If you make a bet on a team, you will support it to win because you want to win your bet. You don't basically care about their position in the league/tournament, or whether they will proceed or will be eliminated, etc. However, you will support them for that specific game because you have money at stake. Every sports bettor would do the same, because it's a common thing, who doesn't want the team that they have a bet on to win? So supporting the team is obvious.

I think there is a clear difference between hoping the team to win and being a fan of a team.  The term support is being misused here since what we really in mind is to hope the team we bet on wins.  This might be a single instance where we want that team to win and another instance that we want that team to lose, but being a fan we always wanted that team to win except if we have a much important goal that wanting that favorite team to lose such as because we bet on another team.

I don't know, actually when betting on a football team, I usually vacillate between being a fan of a club and a bettor. Yes, because after all, betting is still betting and as much as possible I will do it for a higher chance of winning, so, I personally am not the idealistic type to stick to my favorite club even if the chance is smaller, no. You're saying the right thing here. A real fan supports their club with their heart and not because they are the winning team. A real fan becomes very angry when his team is losing some even get to the point of crying and even shouting at the TV set but next week you will still see them wearing the jersey of their club, you will still see them buying tickets and still singing the song of victory for their team and that is how you show real love. True fans are known for suffering together. True fans suffer together with their team season after season and not casually or double faced. They do it genuinely from the very beginning to the end.

Support in terms of what exactly is it by speculations of the outcome and team performance that you call Support,  i think those that actually Support the team arw those that engage in the games like players amd management.

As far as i know, tou are just a speculator that guess the the outcome of the games, although you may wish for the team you pick on your bet to win, but that is because of your own gains and not for the fan of those club's.

That is true, even if you know your favorite teams are good, still, there are matches that you know very well that they are underdogs. At the end of the day, it is your money, and those athletes don't care what will happen to your money even if they are your favorites. So before you think about your idols, think about what will happen to your money. So for me, you can always bet opposite your favorites. They are still your favorites but you are just taking care of your funds. Do remember, they don't know what happens to your funds or what you are doing financially, so it is on you how you will keep afloat when you are betting. And besides, they don't even know you exist. So why go to the extent of betting your favorites despite of knowing their chances in the game?

This is true. When betting, we set emotions and sentiments aside and do what we believe will be favourable to us. I am a fan of Manchester United, but when it comes to betting, I might betray my club if all facts before me is pointing that the opponents might likely win, ofcourse I will do the right thing. I wish that my predictions go as I have made it. This is just betting, my bets will not affect the performance of any of the teams playing, so they have no excuse for underperforming. It is my money that is at stake here, It is normal that I support those whose influence will make me win.

I think this happens to a lot of people, of course. When you put money on a bet, it's almost impossible not to end up rooting for the outcome you bet on, even if it's not your favorite team.

I do agree. In the meantime, you are fanning that particular club to win, but not a real fan of the club. Instead of using the word fan why not say supporting since it is only for the meantime. My reasons are to being a fan of a club comes with so many responsibilities. But the biggest responsibility has to do with supporting the club at all times, both in days they are winning and in days they are losing. Things will not always go right for a club; there will surely be good times and sad times in sports.
