I bought a whole bunch of legacy mining hardware just to play around with it so I got a bunch of Bitmain Antminer U2, Anker 9+1 port USB hubs, and Arctic Breeze fans. Now for some reason I can hook up 8 Antminers to my G75 using the Anker USB hubs (4 ports per hub) but as soon as I connect the 3rd hub it gives me a bunch of error messages and they all stat coming up at unknown device. Any idea's why this is happening?

Each hubs is powered, each hub has only 4 Antminers in them plus a fan, and this laptop has 4 USB 3.0 ports so I would imagine it could handle 16 of them but it can't so I had to set up my old laptop and I would really like to be only using one computer until I'm finished building my new desktop computer.

Is this some kind of restriction to USB input? or is this just a standard bitcoin thing? Do I need to look for special motherboards that will allow me to use more then 2 hubs when I build my new desktop pc?

I'm buying two ATI 6990's so I was looking for a mATX motherboard with at least two PCIe x16 so I can put them in crossfire.. Not really sure if I should just buy any motherboard now or if I need a specific one for bitcoin usb hubs.

Any ideas?
