Cannabis Cup in Denver is the second year for this event and I suspect this year is going to be even better than last year. The key difference is the change in marijuana's legal status across the country and growth of bitcoin since then. Some of you may or may not be aware of the marijuana industry’s banking problems which are similar but different from bitcoin trader’s problems.

I am going to cannabis cup as part of  a long term strategy to establish local trades in key areas(vegas and working on denver now) and maybe some investors. I had planned on making a flyer offering my trading services but I am now opting for a “pay it forward” approach with a “pro bitcoin” flyer that explains the possible ways that both are answers to problems both face right now. My plan is to mostly give this to vendors at Cannabis Cup and the numerous events surrounding it.

What I am asking for here are some useful verifiable facts that can be used on the flyer plus possible concerns/answers to those concerns they may have. I have hired a graphics guy from this forum to do the work and will hopefully be able to use the responses here to building a nice flyer/info packet and q/a.

This is a BIG money industry and if just one or two decent sized dispensaries to make a move into btc it could snowball and that is good for all of us.

Not sure what facts could go hand in hand, but I'm sure there could be some effective or catchy slogans. I really think Bitcoin could blossom in the legal cannabis industry, especially with most banks refusing to work with dispensaries etc, but sadly that also includes many Bitcoin payment processors too. I wonder if a Bitcoin friendly one will emerge who will find a way to issue payments without a bank. I reckon there's massive profits to be made if one arises that gets around the issues as the cannabis industry only seems to growing larger and larger at the moment. I hope the Federal government just doesn't try crush it at one point.

This is an opportunity that will only get bigger as more and more marijuana businesses open and as more states allow mmj or legal marijuana period. The problems with the exchanges is a very real issue but there are plenty of p2p methods available that have faster cashout times/higher rates of return than using a standard exchange would. The issue comes from having a federal MSB license afaik. Which is probably why exchanges like coinbase wont take MMJ business money.

I wish you all the best bridging the gap friend.  And I hope you enjoy this 4/20, I have no doubt this year will be a spectacular celebration.  I sure hope nothing silly happens like the shooting that took place last year I believe it was.

Someone in the BTC and/or pot industry needs to buy a decent sized banking company.
Even a regional credit union would help.

The legal pot industry is having trouble getting banks to accept their money.
Many BTC companies are facing issues finding BTC friendly banks.
"We" need to own a couple of banks == Then they will be friendly.  Smiley

If that could be done it would be great but i don't think so...we just gotta find a bank that would sympathize with us a bit more.
