enabling more than one video card for mining

Hello All,

I hope you can help me. I am completely new to mining. I bought a motherboard that can hold 3 video cards for mining, however I cannot get more than one device to begin mining. I am using GUIMiner v2012-12-03, I have set up the second card just as I did the first but it will not begin mining, even though it shows up in the device field. Have I missed a configuration step?

Also, does mining stop when the monitor goes to sleep? I have set up the PC to never sleep except for the monitor, but I think it is stopping when the monitor sleeps.
