Hello
I had a wallet with bitcoin on a computer.
I have a hard drive Time Machine back up of that computer.
I do not know how to retrieve the bitcoins.
I do not have a computer to restore...only the back up.
Can I retrieve my bitcoins from it?
Thank you

can you be more clear what is the problem ? if you have got backup of that wallet then you can retrive it but you will be needing the seed key or wallet.dat file. electrum wallet which you are using if you are using windows one then when you installed it would have created a seed key, which is very important to retrive your all wallet address and the bitcoins.

I would agree on being moe clear..  What do you have backup of (and do not post it just making sure no new user mistakes).   If you have backup of everything... I would think it is there.

But none of us know what is backed up and what is not.  Also you really should find a computer to restore it to if there is a sizeable amount. If its small and you don't care.. then fine leave it.  But if you wait to long seem like that backup will disappear.

First question;
Was the electrum version 1.9 and lower? If yes then
Can you reach "default_wallet" file under %appdata%/Electrum folder?

If the Electrum version is 2.0+ then you just need to find your 12 words to recover your wallet & funds.

Sounds like a Mac to me, if so keep in mind that most of the above advice is for windows.

It is however true that you do not have to care about any files as long as you have the seed. If you dont have the seed you will need to find the wallet file. Here[1] is an explanation how to do that on Mac.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.
