Ive been watching the reddit posts today and there are some funny things going on with Bitcoin today. Specifically related to mt gox stuff.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1zw9pm/proof_mtgox_control_180000btc_not_the_declared/

http://www.coindesk.com/gox-money-moving-through-block-chain/

I am very concerned about this. While I am a large LTC proponent I deeply care about Bitcoin and crypto currency and ecosystem as a whole. You have to understand, Bitcoin is the face of crypto's right now, and issues that arise make it to the news, which affects all of us. We are all one large family, and we need to start acting like one!

Ive been following this for a large part of today and I'm not sure what to make of it. As I mentioned before, it troubles me. I have been following the mt gox news for a while now, and when something like this happens this sets back not BTC, or LTC, or even Doge, but it sets back our ideals as one large Crypto entity!

This community needs to ask, no, DEMAND, information from mt gox. We need to know their addresses so they can be audited against the blockchain. The crypto community consists of some of the most intelligent people in the world, im sure we can work to find out what really happened to them and where the coins went (or didnt go, looking from the above information if it is true).

Those who visited mt gox personally outside their offices are a true inspiration for all of us, we need to do more than just lend them support. Be an active member and tell these large exchanges we have had enough, and demand proof of what happens by any legal means necessary.

By inaction this will bring about unintended consequences for all of us as a whole, either by some sort of draconian regulations or worse. We need action and need it now! This community needs to step up and become the pillar of knowledge, truth, and freedom that Bitcoin was built around! There is zero reason why we dont have access to mt gox's cold storage wallet addresses at this point. Ask the Bitcoin foundation to get involved, and demand from them that they put pressure on mt gox and other exchanges for now and to prevent other issues in the future.

We can be anonymous yet transparent at the same time, and that to me is the true value of Crypto-currencies. Demand accountability NOW! From the Bitcoin foundation as well since Mark K was on the board!

Thank you everyone, and I truly hope this post doesn't sink into obscurity.  Smiley

EDIT: Just to clear any misconceptions, I have never send BTC to mt gox, and never will if they decide to rebrand. This post is about community action!

learning something new.

karpeles left france due to fraud, lost a fraud case in july 2013 and then the downward spiral of gox.. if only people know about the first two cases, they would have cashed out ages before

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

There's a class action lawsuit building up steam in America against gox since they did business in America as well.

I would suggest connecting those lawyers and letting them know about this if they don't already.

Aside from that, gox isn't going to listen to anyone.  Unless you got a lawyer and theres a court case,  good luck getting any sort of response or action from mt. gox.

I added an edit, I never invested in mt gox and never will if they decide to rebrand. This post is about us as a collective to work together to self regulate and demand answers when something takes a turn for the worse!

EDIT: "good luck getting any sort of response or action from mt. gox."

Im sorry, but other communities wouldnt stand for this, why would you?

You would think, but when they're presented with proof of a Matt hawking Black Arrow miners that he's a liar, it's the baring of bad news that gets attacked, namely me. Same true for the Joshua Zipkins of the world. And the Long Dong Johnsons and Skropenises. And Jay Shores.

But, don't go around using a harmless word like NIGGER when it's refers to a cocksucker that beats up a ~100lb woman that's your niece, regardless of their race.

If you ain't figured it out yet, I'm one pissed off motherfucker. Last year I championed InstaWallet up to the hack, trusting them with my 1,132 BTC. To this motherfucking day, I've yet to be assured that I'm getting it back, having them return only the lesser 0.835 BTC to me, in spite of turning in three claims at the same time.

Hell, I can't even get the Bitcoiner that took a pic of the banner I invested ~$500 in, that didn't make it into the Super Bowl. to send me a single said pic, for she's was instructed to do whatever she wanted with the banner, including making a profit off of it.

One Bitcoiner who I donated serious bitcoins to is now sticking it up my ass because I'm stepping on his toes.

On top of all that, I seriously don't know what side of the fence I'm on concerning the who-is-the-real-Satoshi saga: Leah or Dorian.

I am not a very happy camper right now.

Do you think that if we all stamp our feet, wail and gnash our teeth, MtGox will be compelled by the Laws of Internet Drama to do something?

Here's how the community should have already shown it would not stand for it: refused do business with MtGox who were provably incompetent and likely criminals based on years of evidence.

Sadly some people didn't learn that lesson. Maybe they will now. All they have left to do is to seek legal recourse, as unlikely as it will be to succeed. That is still the proper thing for them to do, not stage an Internet sit-in.

If you think that is not the case then please suggest a concrete plan of action to compel MtGox to do something rather than just saying "something should be done"

Yet another MtGox drama, now I find my details are being leaked ON TOP of losing 150 BTC. That's taking the piss. Personally I've run out of steam for Bitcoin right now. Time for a bit of a break.

http://www.coindesk.com/mt-gox-officially-files-liquidation/

Below was the less worst solution
http://uk.reuters.com/article/2014/04/18/uk-mtgox-bitcoin-investorgroup-idUKBREA3G2FZ20140418
http://www.coindesk.com/potential-mt-gox-buyer-exchange-important-role-bitcoins-future/
http://www.savegox.com/
Brock Pierce, Jonathan Yantis, venture capitalists William Quigley, Matthew Roszak, and Wall Street veteran John Betts seem serious (and they know bitcoins) and it was perhaps a partial solution to this problem....
