i hate it how (and i speak from experience) that if you call a black person a N word then they get all defensive and its racist but if you call a white person a cracker then its cool and it's just a nickname. 

Cracker is offensive and most people would get pretty pissed off if a non-white said it to you, but I don't think you can compare the words. Does the word Cracker have over 200 years of enslavement and murder behind it?

I never understood why black people call each other niggers and get angry if a white guy says it.

Because the concept of double standard is foreign to them.  Not all blacks, just the once who reinforce the hood lifestyle where it's OK to call women bitches and ho's and call others the N word, but if anybody non black says it they need a beat down.

Those friends of your would be called sell-outs by the very same people who use the N word.  Personally I would rather be a sell-out and not have my ethnicity thought of as some sort of caveman because I can't find more appropriate diction.
