Mining will start on Tuesday 1 July 2014 18:00 GMT.

The unknown coin project was started in January 2014 by a group of altcoin enthusiastics working in the IT sector.

The coin in itself does not offer any new techology to the altcoin scene.

The goal of the project is to offer something that most of the altcoins dont have when they launch: a ready infrastructure and community.

The unknown coin project is backed up by five companies specialized in PC hardware. Two are located in the US, two in Europe (Germany and UK)
and one in Australia. All of these companies have been operating for several years with success, all of them have a physical retail shop and
an online shop, two of them delivering world wide. There are two more similar companies that we are still negotiating a deal with.

One month after the launch all these companies will start accepting the unknown coin as payment, regardless of the state of
mining, exchanges or any other things.

I'm talking about this as a project because the coin does not have a name yet. The name of the coin will be decided by the community.
The community will suggest and vote for the name, the symbol and the logo of the coin in the upcoming forum at the unknown coin project
website.

The coin will be distributed in several ways: a share will go to the companies backing up the coin, to people who want to invest in
the coin before the lauch, by a giveaway to the community every year in our website and most of all by mining.

Details

Scrypt
PoW
Symbol will be decided by the community.
Block time 30 seconds
Difficulty retargeting after every 5 block - Kimoto Gravity Well
5 confirmations
Total blocks ~5.256.000
Block reward is 100 coins per block during the first year of mining
Block reward will decrease by 50% once a year, every 1 July
Max supply of coins will be ~240.000.000
Max of coins mined:   ~203.670.000 coins

Premine

~15% of the coins are premined, ~36.330.000 coins.

Each one of the five companies backing up the unknown coin project has bought 1% of the total coinbase.

2% of the coinbase will be distributed for free to the community. 0.4% of the coins will be given out every year through our website.
You will need to register to our forums to get a share. Everyone will be identified with the registeration, e-mail address, ip-address and finally in our chat at the website. This way we will ensure a fair distribution.

The registeration for the giveaway will be during July and the coins will be distributed during August. This process will be repeated every year.

2% of the coinbase is reserved for upcoming competitions and for games using the coin.

6% of the coinbase will be sold publicly to investors during May and June.

Website

The website will open 1 June. It will include forums, chat, an auction for users to sell and buy PC hardware and several simple games where users can play against each other with their coins. Also all the companies backing up this project will have their online shops integrated to the website.

Wallets

Wallet 1.0

Windows and mac wallets will be released in the unknown coin project website 15 minutes before the launch.

Wallet 2.0

An update on the wallet may include integrated chat, games and auction. More information on this will be available in July.

Config

Upcoming! Config will be released here and in our website.

Exchanges

Upcoming!

Pools

Upcoming! There will be 2 dedicated pools run by the companies backing up this coin.

Games

An independent dev team will release a free to play fantasy themed MMO adventure game in August. The game will use the coin as an ingame currency. You will be able to buy and sell ingame items with the currency and of course gain more coins by playing the game.

A poker room and casino using the coin will be released in July.

The unknown project website will include several small games where you can play against other users for coins.

Faucets

Upcoming! There will be at least 2 faucets run by the companies backing up this coin.

Competitions

Upcoming! There will be competitions for the name of the coin, its symbol and logo. Also many more competitions will be
taking place later.

This post will be updated next time in 1.5.2014.

Thank you

A wee bit early for announcing don't you think? It just might get stale in a while and wont have enough bumps to keep the thread noticable for 3 months straight. Plus I think in 3 months, you're going to have a hard time trying to sell scrypt to a coin that relies so heavily on community.... with the ingame currency and other active participants to keep the value of the coin afloat. I think X11 or some other ultra cool algo invented in the future (hey 3 months is a long long long time!) should be the way to go.

My suggestion for a name would be "Cookies" - CKS  Cheesy
