So I closed a wallet file on the weekend, and when I tried to reopen it a few days later, it says "another program made changes to this file" and the address is changed, and/or I can't find the original wallet file.
The wallet is still showing as the same total amount unspent (blockchain), so I do not think it was removed or hacked, but I cannot find the .wallet file with the same address. What could be the program that changed it?

If you have a read of this help page:
https://multibit.org/en/help/v0.5/help_troubleshooting.html

you should be able to find your wallet. Then you can just open it using File | Open wallet.
