Yo Boys!
I was wondering if you could bring your opinion in the pros in the AltcoinXSidechain matter.
First of all since I've never bought any coins beside BTC I see myself a little bit BIAS'ed.
That aside I'll try to give my perspective as neutral as possible:

Sidechain
Pros:
1st- Concentration of “value” which makes the blockchain software development run faster (More value stored at BTC the easier to pay developers)
2nd- Tranquility. Blockchain technology is creating so much content, it's very difficult for an ordinary user to keep pace with the community developers productivity.
Sure cryptocurrencies are here to stay. But I don't think anybody would want to lose money in the process. Sidechain can give us the features without the “risk” of one day coming back from vacation you discover that TAOcoin is the currency with the best features and you are the last one to know about it.
3rd- Unity. Cryptocurrency is looking for mass adoption it is hard to see this becoming a reality any time soon when there's plenty to chose.
It's very like Linux... try to explain a windows user that Linux is a distribution from which you can pick many many different distributions depending on the need of the user.

Altcoins
Pros:
1st- Competition. I guess that Altcoin have made possible to test new features in a safer environment without risking BTC.
2nd- Customization. If you can try whatever you want then it will be much more currencies with diverse characteristics. It's more likely to find one currency that fits your needs perfectly.

All this thinking brought a questions:
1- Is the sidechain going to have any limitation in the speed of the implementation? Let's say all altcoin dev's come to develop sidechains instead, will they be able to deliver features as fast as they could in their altcoin?

Using Linux analogy again I guess we could use 2 ways of development:
1- Concentrated + collaboratively (More like the Kernel development in which many companies help)
2- Competitively (More like Distributions development)

Which of the models can bring the most benefit with less cost/risk?
What you guys think?

PS: Sorry, English clearly is not my native
