Help understanding why a Proof of storage model like maidsafe can or cannot work

People say its not possible, I dont get it , it seems to me like it is, any knowledgable thoughts or opinions would be welcome

Just like with any Crypto-currency, it requires adoption. The real question is will people use the Maidsafe system? After all that's the whole basis for creating value for coins, systems or anything.
