Really looking forward to the conference. Thanks to the organisers for all the hard work in setting this up.

Perhaps a little intro is in order. I'm involved with two business partners on building entry level bitcoin miners, as well as distributing mainly China-based miners directly via express intl shipping. We're working on an Avalon3 USB miner that is close to being production ready. Hoping to bring a sample to the conference. If anyone is interested in knowing more about the Avalon3 USB miner, please get in touch.

OP, will there be any evening parties during the weekend or a pre-event on the Friday night? Would be great to get to know some of the attendees in a casual setting before the main weekend event.

Can you also recommend any reasonably cheap hotels of less than 350kuai/night close by?

Most of the Bitcoin community in Beijing and other parts of China are pretty visible. If the Chinese government wanted to arrest bitcoin enthusiasts, they could have done it at any time. They don't need a conference for that, that'd just be bad press.. And yes, even the Chinese government cares about the press. As for being marked for going, perhaps Cheesy

So back on topic. If any event attendees are still looking for accommodations, a couple of us are staying at a hostel called Peking Yard near Dongsi. It's a neat little place with great atmosphere that's just a short subway ride away to the venue.

open-mind

I'm disappointed! Embarrassed  I just found out about Bitcoin Global Summit 2014. I would like to participate but I don't have time to do a visa to China.
