Hello, i just bought a Antminer S1.

And i don't know if i can use this power supply or not. it only have one PCI-E 6 pin, but it also have 8pin can i use the 8pin?

This is the power supply (got it for cheap, yes i know i am a cheap bastard)

That is cutting it very close, you would not be able to overclock with that at all.  You would also probably have to end up cutting up the wires limiting any resale value of the supply.  I would return that and get something better.

you need 500w single rail.

Try it, if the miner under performs or don't start, it does not work.

You'll need to modify the wires if you only have 1x 6pin PCIE plug

The 8 pin is slotted, so just use 6 of them.  It should fit in the Ant's 6 pin connector.

Thank, but on the 6pin so is the black wires on the clip side, and on the 8pin so is the yellow wires on the clipside, wound that make magical grey smoke?

How does that work?  Does the polarity of the pwr/gnd not matter on that S1?

It looks like it only has 1 PCI-E cable, that other cable is for a CPU and the polarity is reversed. You can get an extension cable for the CPU part and then cut of the end and just wire up the positive and negative to the terminal block.

Everyone thanks for all the help, and all the serius suggestions it have been helpfull!

i powered up the miner, and the PSU did not work with both blades, however i got one working blade just using the 6pin. so this will be the solution until i recieve the new PSU i have ordered, and i will use this one for a little test server =)
