Can we help bitcoin by sending emails to companies?

I was thinking what could I do to help bitcoin grow.

Maybe simply sending an email to a company asking if they accept or think of accepting bitcoin would be a great start.
Imagine, if you're a not so big company and suddenly receive 5-10 emails about it, I bet you'll consider the option.
And worst case scenario, you will have heard the word bitcoin and hopefully learn a bit about it.

It certainly doesn't hurt. Amazon kind of laid down the gauntlet on that when they said people weren't demanding it.

Well, I imagine that for a company with so many costumers it would take a lot of us sending email.

Sending emails is very easy. However it is also very easy to ignore emails.

A more effective way to get companies to accept bitcoin would be to write letters sent via the USPS or to make a phone call.

Agreed. If enough people take the time to do it it could have an effect.

Yes, it would definitely get them curious and they'll make an effort to learn more about it, but whether or not they accept it is all up to them and just because they receive bunch of emails won't convince them to accept it.

If they are interested and learn about BTC then they will have an incentive to accept it. The costs associated with accepted bitcoin are much lower then with other payment methods.

That and if they know their is a large enough market to make it profitable it is really a no brainer to adopt.

As far as it being a no brainer: they would need to research the various methods that they could accept bitcoin. Most big companies will not simply start to accept a new payment method without first doing it's due diligence.

Even if the market is not big, it would likely get bigger after accepting bitcoin as many people are intersted in spending coins with companies that accept them.

I think that phone calls would be the way to go, as it is much harder to ignore phone calls without ignoring actual customers (In my opinion).

Emails could be good for the mass of it, but as stated, it's easy to ignore emails.

We shouldn't start big, however. Aim for mid-sized companies, so they get more traffic, which may start enticing the large companies if they start losing their business.
