Hello all! Really appreciate you taking the time to read this. Around two months ago my partner and I were trying to bet on the outcome of a Twitch tournament and we realized that there wasn’t any real service out there to simply and efficiently facilitate it -- so we launched bitcoinb3T [dot]com
The idea is pretty simple - anyone can create a bet like “Will /r/Bitcoin reach 130,000 followers by July 1st”. The issue with bets, is who decides the outcome. What we propose is for bets to have ‘Judges’. Each judge gets to choose the winning choice, and if there’s disagreement, then everyone’s bet is refunded (in full). We currently use email as the login method but would like to also allow for logging in via your btc address in the future. Judges are also able to claim half a percent of the winnings if they choose to do so.
We run another reputable startup that deals with bitcoin, but because of the uncertainty of bitcoin laws where we’re located, we’d like to protect our identity. Which leads into the next issue of trust. We do store your bitcoin on our servers just like an exchange, except we have a (hopefully) working business model (the house takes a %1 cut only on successfully bets where the winning pot exceeds .025 bitcoins.)
