Watch dogs is a upcoming open world shooter, officially to be released on the 27th.
It was leaked early in the morning on the 23rd.

There have been rumors that there is a bitcoin miner lurking in some of the leaked versions.
Is anybody here able to confirm this?
What kind of sniffed packets would reveal the presence of a miner?

I think this is a rumour being spread to try and scare people away from downloading torrents, that said I am pretty paranoid about the anti-copyright lobby these days, I've been downloading and haven't seen my computer behaving weirdly or anything, mind you, I mostly download from private torrent sites and trusted users on piratebay so.

Since a miner uses a lot of GPU-Power, I think, you would notice if there was one hidden inside the game.
I also think, most People are intelliegent enough, to prevent a cracked copy of a game to Access the Internet, so the hidden miner is worthless anyways.

Your topic title is a little misleading - there is no Bitcoin miner included in the actual retail Watch Dogs distribution. I'm hardly surprised that pirates would take advantage of other pirates for monetary gain. Anyway, I'm not too bothered about it (you could think of it as the cost of getting the game for free) I'm just gonna wait for it to go on sale @75% off on Steam eventually and buy it then. Still got a massive backlog of games to clear.

Well, it says in Watch Dogs leak. So that takes care of that.
