I wanted to try mining mining RomanCoins and other X11 coins on an old Linux box and have had a number of failed attempts because the software doesn't support X11 or supports GPU mining only.

I'd prefer to try solo mining on new coin releases (for what it's worth!) and would like to know which software works with CPU only and X11? I tried CPUMiner but it apparently doesn't do X11.

Any help would be very appreciated !

Most profitable coin to mine with cpu is CryptoNight algo, ie. QCN or FCN. Unless you got free power and powerful server type cpu's, then I would suggest whatever is on whatmine.com for a profit calculator.
