Good work BitCoinDream but this is not even peanuts.

Theymos accepted 6000 BTC in donations to upgrade this forum but kept it all for himself. Morever this forum even got hacked cause he didn't even update the forum software.

6000 BTC is a lot to build a replacement to this shitty forum, with some much needed features.

Anyways, personally I feel it is good because Theymos also owns the bitcoin wiki in addition to bitcointalk.org and 'centralization is bad' for bitcoin. I want people to move away from here and form their own communities. Decentralize people!

I think our mod here, Benson Samuel, should agree with me since he is a member of GBA Alliance that stands against the mighty Bitcoin Foundation.

If you look at it, very few number of people (less than 10) control the majority of bitcoin channels. Theymos, FriedCat, TheBitcoinFoundation each are very rich, powerful and closed. This kind of centralization should be alarming.

"India is the guru of the nations, the physician of the human soul in its profounder maladies; she is destined once more to remould the life of the world and restore the peace of the human spirit.
But Swaraj is the necessary condition of her work and before she can do the work, she must fulfil the condition."

the domain for bitcointalk.org is owned by Sirius, if I am not wrong. The forums do run on a decentralized organization structure with theymos in hold of the wallet.

I honestly cannot see a better way of doing this without complicating the kitty out of it.

But I can see a bunch of things happening in the back end such as an addition of automated ad slots, etc.. So hopefully these will come forward quite soon to add some value to the forums.

However, there is a dire need for more initiatives such as the forum or the wiki in order to maintain a decentralized approach. While quite a few have tried to start new ones, nothing has really come close to what we have here.

Even then it should still be enough to run on ads. I read sometimes back the ads are quite expensive.

5 BTC for a month? Not bad, but its a waste on somebody using adblock like me.

Theymos's work with ads is suspicious as well. Even after it was public information that BFL is a scam, theymos ran BFL ads on this forum. He is the moderator for reddit's r\bitcoin as well and even there allegedly he included malicious links which scammed noobs off their btc; it was right there in the sidebar !

I think it is weekly auction and the total collection is 15+ BTC. But can u block the forum ads with your adblock ? Does not the posts get blocked too if u try to block forum ads ?Which ad blocker u r using by the way ?
