Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has both an S2 and an SP10 and can comment on the noise difference between them.  I have a Terraminer and a couple of S2's and was look at whether to get another S2 or try the SP10.  All my equipment is in my house mostly in the basement and a guest room.  Since I can close the doors the noise is muffled, but I heard the SP10 may be really loud.

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks.

The difference between a space heater and a jet engine.

Seriously,  without noise dampening equipment,  you would probably be okay at the SP10s lowest fan setting.

If you're looking to get a new miner I'd watch out for the new rockminer xbox. About $1.1/gh and 1.2w/gh.

The S2 is way quieter and the SP30 looks like it will still be a loud beast as well.

SP-10-72db, and people say that it is high pitch sound that is the most noticeable (like a buzz saw). Acoustic cabinet-OK if you have $5000 lying around.

I have both.  The S2 I have in my spare bedroom.  The SP10 is in my basement.  On turbo, I can hear the SP10 screaming throughout my house.  With the fans set to 50, I can only hear it early in the morning when the house is silent.  However, if I open the basement door, I can most certainly hear it.

The SP10 fans whine like a high-pitched jet turbine.  The S2 makes more of a "whoosh" sound.  The pitch is far lower - because of the considerably larger fans.  In my bedroom, which is right next to the spare bedroom, I cannot hear the S2 at all.  It's just white noise.
