I thought about my dead grandpa for the first time in a while today. I'm expecting that to be reflected in the price soon.

Iraq was invaded or liberated (depends on what you think and or believe.) by Islam invasion/liberation force today.

We know the area has suffered a lot over the years will this  'surprise' cause a spike in BTC.

Opinions.

Every time some sort of social/political turmoil happens, it is supposed to cause a rally in the price of BTC? I don't think that's how it works. Cyprus worked, I guess....

Cyprus worked, I guess....

Was it really Cyprus last spring or China last fall or just coincidental with the natural growth of Bitcoin?

We're all guessing.

There is no causal link between the current affairs within Iraq and the price of Bitcoin. I wouldn't look too much into political goings on vs the price of XBT. Nothing more to add on the matter.
