what does the name of this coin mean?
The name means its to help find a cure! we are folding proteins for scientific research for curing and helping create medicine for the above mentioned diseases.
i thought gridcoin has done the samething before.

Gridcoin TRIED to implement boinc but unfortunately 95% of gpu power was used to mine and a very small amount was used for BOINC. So it really was not effective and did not go far. This on the other hand is ASIC mining for sha (because these machines are already made and people in the community will want to use them regardless). And folding for cpu/gpu miners and not just a small portion, ALL of the power is used to fold proteins.
Curecoin is currently the #1 folding team and is growing daily. The balance between ASIC and Folding will also play an interesting part. GPU miners hold a larger sum and the delay in rewards gives for "speculative folding". Once users dedicate themselves you dont really want to quit. It hooks you in and you dont want to turn it off even if the profitability goes down because well your helping save lives and increasing overall rarity (which overall will increase the price with time). Thats a huge difference for a coin. Most folders are dedicated and as the numbers increase the rarity will follow. Giving a perfect opportunity right now for investors to jump on.
Theres no reason this wont be the next big thing. Nothing about any of the new coins I have seen give me reason to want to mine anything but the most profitable. Now theres a coin worth actually dedicating to. Put your power to a good use. force the rarity up! gather the coins! this is by far a better reason to dedicate to a coin then there ever has been one. Theres nothing special about any other coin asside from the obvious that was established with bitcoin. This is finally something different. Something real.. something that could potentially save the lives of millions and make a few bucks in the process.
Its worth investing in due to rarity increases. its worth mining with ASIC because it will increase the baseline and profits will follow. Its worth folding because it saves lives! and your getting something back for those that are already to greedy or poor to do it for free.
