With all the new scrypts that are gaining popularity (dark, etc) are ltc and doge losing steam?

I just guess that the euphoria is in the past for DOGE.
Its falling from a long time. And yet - it was/is still fun.
But just for fun.

Also you should keep in mind all the Scrypt ASICs lately.
