So I had a couple hours to kill yesterday and jokingly told my friends that I was going to Wall Street to see if I can find any bitcoins. To my surprise, a couple buildings down from the New York Stock Exchange was a bitcoin banner! I went inside.

I was immediately welcomed by a fine, clean dressed gentleman who got up from the table to give me a tour. Being in similar situations myself (trying to work and visitors dropping in out of nowhere and wanting attention), I know it can be difficult to be welcoming. I really appreciate that first welcome to bitcoin for anyone who walks through the door.

He kind of missed the part when I told him I was "into bitcoin", so I let it go. He thought I was new. I asked him what they do there. While giving me a tour of the location he gave me probably the best explanation I have ever heard of bitcoin. Anyone going through that door not knowing anything about bitcoin could get a crash course in 5 minutes and come out convinced of bitcoin.

Pointing to something next to a miner, I asked him what it was. He thought I was pointing to the miner - and he gave me a two minute explanation of mining that make it so simple! I have spent HOURS explaining mining to people and have not been as successful as this gentleman was. In two minutes.

Then I asked him what the other people in the center were doing. He told me that they are actively trying to get bitcoin accepted in local businesses and promote bitcoin.

He went on to tell me that every Monday and Thursday they have presentations and bitcoin meet ups. I'm definitely going back!

Finally as I was leaving he gave me a copy of yBitcoin. It is a magazine that really is a great introduction to bitcoin.

I was very, very impressed.

Anyway, I wish I remembered the name of the guy who gave me the most awesome introduction to bitcoin! The center gave me a lot of hope for the future of bitcoin on Wall Street and in New York. If you're reading this I'll like to give a shout out and say that you guys are awesome!
