What do you look for in a good Altcoin Airdrop?

The majority of the coins that make it aren't worth enough. Some made it big in airdrops like 'JUP'.
Are there others who made it, too? (I don't look into airdrops that much) - I want to know if there's any potential in this.

Firstly identify if the project is a scam project, a genuine airdrop community always find a way to build and grow the community secondly asking for payment before farming only shows how greedy the community is meaning it might result to scam project etc. I’m not a fan of airdrop farming, I only read about few experience people encounter like for example everything should be done accurate giving the appropriate date not the changing of different date when it comes to launching a token, lastly you can’t conclude except you try.

There are so many ways we can identify if a project is a scam or not but many investors don't have that time to do research. They are only interested in taking their previous time to jump on any available airdrops they see thinking all is going to end up giving them good allocation that could worth bucks of dollars. Crypto market is huge and many investors just like jumping from one project to another seeking for huge profits to be made before they would have to dump such a project.

Had plenty of disappointments with airdrop but it's worth noting that in order to hit that one, big drop, you need to farm 10-20 others. There's no way to know which one will do well or not. You just have to pick 2-5 that you have max conviction on and go deep in them then keep your fingers crossed. I still love the Olds days when we have no expectations but then get surprised with massive drop value because no one "farmed" airdrop then.

Airdrop this days is so annoying. You may farm more than 10 project with non giving a good reward. Recently, the introduction of telegram project now worsen everything. Many people farm airdrop this days making it not so promising. Only the influencers who had the opportunity to reffed many people are most time favoured. Although I'm not saying one shouldn't do it, one can still do it but don't really put much mind for it rewards. So it won't be painful if the reward doesn't come or the reward isn't promising.

Yes, very annoying now but still a very good avenue for new folks in crypto to make their first > $1 in crypto. But right now, it's very saturated. There isn't a lot of good projects that can do well too. To crown it all, the market is shit. Almost all airdrops in 2024 had down only charts except for a few standout performers like HyperLiquid.

Referral based drops are also for people with a lot of influence. I don't participate in those because it's almost certain you won't get the time and effort back

What makes it a good avenue for new folks if you work all days for months to earn approximately $1? It isn't encouraging at all because the airdrop doesn't work to compensate the time and energy spent. The influencers with much followers are still making it far better with this airdrop far more than just ordinary person.

I think it's still hard to find potential airdrops, and airdrops are the only ones I know of that I just read here on the forum, and paldo.io is that if I'm not mistaken. And not all of the big crypto communities mean that these are potential airdrops.

Because there are so many airdrops like that, in the end they end up looking like scams, and one of those is what happened with hamster kombat, X token, and others.
So it's not easy to determine which airdrops are legitimate or potential.

When participating in airdrop, we shouldn’t always expect much from airdrop, and their is nothing like strong airdrop, because airdrops which we all expect to perform well will be the one that’s going to disappoint us, their are always hype in some airdrops before they get listed, and you going to be thinking maybe they are going to be perform well but they won’t. Before I hype any project, till am paid, and I swap the coin, before I start hyping them. Most people participating in airdrop are always so confident in some airdrops, just because of the hype the projects have, and not all projects hyped are always performing well, so I won’t say their is any potential airdrop.

Yes—it's disheartening and depressing to say the least. That's why I haven't had it in me to farm any airdrops in recent times because you might have a go at it for months or even a year and the results will be very underwhelming. Most of the top influencers don't get involved in any project with a farming opportunity if there are no referral system because that's the system that helps them stay ahead of the curve.

Not everyone have such platforms or influence to replicate.
