Has anyone been able to get 5 or more GPUs to boot in Windows using 12.1 drivers or newer?

I have a 7 GPU rig running 11.12, but as soon as I tried 12.1 I got BSOD on every boot. I was wondering if anyone had been able to get more than 5 GPUs to run stable on the 12.x drivers, as the new 7xxx series requires these drivers. Reason I ask was because I was thinking about building a rig with 7 7850s when they come out...

I couldn't even mine or browse the web for more than 10s without BSODs after adding 5th GPU on 12.1. Tried everything even hot-plugging the GPUs.
Returning to 11.12 fixed the problem.

Same thing happened to me; BTW, I spent about 3 hours yesterday attempting to get my 7 GPU rig to boot with 12.3RC with no luck. Seems we are limited to 4 GPU 7xxx rigs for now.. Shame, especially once the 7990 comes out.

AMD drivers at one time were limited to 4 GPUs in Windows and 8 GPU in Linux.  AMD eventually fixed the lower windows limit.  I wonder if they fubared something in the 12.x drivers which reintroduces the limit.

I'm having a similar issue with MSI 890FXA-GD70 and 5x7970. I get the BSOD upon window's installing the driver and then upon login after reboot. I don't even have a chance to run the miner.

Is it possible to install Catalysis 11.12 and manually install the drivers for the 7970. I've seen some people on other forums talk about this but couldn't figure it out.

I originally intended to run unix (BAMT or LinuxCoin) but I can't find the drivers for the 7970. If anyone knows where to download / install them then I'll switch back to unix.

btw the rig runs rock solid with 4x7970 but I was shooting for 6.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I don't own one yet, but it was my understanding that 11.12 supported the 7970: http://en.expreview.com/2012/01/13/amd-newly-catalyst-11-12-driver-available-with-hd-7970-support/20281.html

Your cards aren't recognized using 11.12?
