I have some information for everybody here.
I just found out the the total Bitcointalk user count is 336,755

Now i have a question..
Does anyone think that is even close to accurate ?

is there 330k users here or is there 5 guys creating 20 accounts a day to spam, troll or post clone coins ?

i seen a guy in the Altcoin section who recently admitted he created about 60 accounts to advertise some coin.
do you all realize this is happening here ?

and i wonder what is the most accounts one guy has made.. anyone want to admit to making more than 60 ?
i also wonder why the staff here don't restrict this activity.. i can't think of any site i ever seen that would tolerate this behavior.

I posted this here because i think it's the Altcoin ANN section responsible for the high user count and i wanted to discuss this with everyone.

PS:
I have one account and have never logged into any other account even once or had anything to do with making a coin, pool or exchange etc..

Thoughts ?

My thought:

 336,755 Accounts = max 80 000 - 100 000  real accounts  Undecided

Best indicators: IPO´s

E.g. NEM     = 3000 stakeholder (each account = 1 stake) = more puppets = more stakes
node    = 1200 stakeholder (each account = 1 stake) = more puppets = more stakes
Simcoin = 200 stakeholder (each stake = coins/ BTC) = no puppet necessary
      Qora     = 150 (?) stakeholder (each stake = coins/ BTC) = no puppet necessary

i never bothered to look before ever so i had no idea what i would find lol

and it's a good point to mention there was a Nooby jail of sorts too.. i had to go through it when i signed up last year.
they pulled it some months back this year i think ? January ?  ..my guess is they did that because it was pointless Forum SQL Database File usage.
they prob figured these guys are going to clone coins non stop and post crap in there so why pad the DB for no reason..
still i think it was at least a deterrent though, some kind of deterrent would be appropriate i think (against mass account creation)

hello Spoetnik, u are clearly rather new to Bitcointalk are u ?

heres a note of the sites administrator for U:

I don't have a problem with alt accounts as long as they're not used for evading bans. If you're hesitant to say something controversial because you don't want it to be associated with your name, please create an alt account and say it.

If there is something you're not comfortable saying associated with your name, maybe you should reconsider saying it at all.

That's a pretty naïve view, IMO. A person isn't composed of just one personality. You're a different person in different places and situations, and it's uncomfortable to mix all of these personalities into one.

if u dont like it then Bitcointalk is not the right place for u... sorry.

hey kid.. I am not in charge of the Altcoin scene
so take it up with all of crypto.. i say what 100,000 other guys are thinking and all of a sudden Spoetnik is picking a fight right ?

i think the whole planet would laugh their ass off at the staff saying that period .
It has nothing to do with "Spoetnik" lol

edit:
and i would love to know where the source to that is.. got a link ?

Also i want every guy in crypto to know what he said.. I think every single guy here would find that rather interesting lol

I said it before to you a couple months ago, some people regularly change their profile names regardless of how long they've been here. It's part of this. Yes, it's abused. I think last time I said there's no legit way to stop the abuse. Perhaps, all accounts should be measured in units of evil regardless of the IP address they're created on? Then everyone would have to pay around a mbtc for an account. Maybe then they could fund DB padding like the newbie jail. Other than that, there's still really no legit way to stop newbie accounts without curbing interest.

Regardless of the current impressions of newbie accounts, there are forum based sites that thrive on users not having accounts at all .. and are still very popular .. much more popular than this site.

edit : Sry, forgot to answer your question. According to the who.is data .. no I do not think that's accurate. Probably 10% of that is much closer to accurate.

Thanks Smiley

who would use a bank that operates in an alley by guys wearing ski masks ?
apparently most of us would..

bending over backwards to provide the environment fertile for fraudulent behavior is NOT responsible.
the excuse for this "if you have something controversial to say" ?

really ? seriously ?

hope this does not get them into legal trouble down the road
cough cough silk road hahha

Show me a couple of threads you seriously think are flooded with comments by multiple users run by a single individual.
