Calm down, they charge an insane price for their iPhones yes, but their imac line, macbook, macpro is a fantastic piece of art.

No need to hate a certain company just because it doesn't suit you.

Their iPhone policy is ridiculous, over priced, future iphones only get more expensive instead of cheaper, etc. Not a good way of selling phones.

I have a Macbook pro with retina display, it cost a lot, but it's a joy to use, no laptop can come close to a macbook as in user experience and productivity.

Yeah a piece of art. As far as a piece of useful technology goes, it is not.

I don`t think they are cheap if we compare their prices to some other products. They were bad and expensive before because in that time that was bigger revolution in phone industry than mobile phones these days becuse, when you needed to send letters to comunicate with someone you value any kind of phone more.

today's mobile phone qualities are low, low price because they know it is going to last few months ,and if it is cheap so you just buy and buy and buy sometimes 3-4 times a year.

Could you tell me more please about that phones that are being sold for $5 ?!

It's these ones:

The right one is a Nokia 100 and the left one is a Samsung phone that has a number of different names - one of them being "Keystone 2".

They don't seem to make the old Nokias anymore. You know, the ones with the monochrome screens and Snake game. Just the other day I saw a girl drop her Samsung Galaxy S3/4/5 and the whole screen cracked and broke. My old Nokia is still working despite the fact that I got it when I was still in middle school and it has been dropped (on concrete) a couple of times. It just has some scuff marks on the casing and the battery no longer holds a charge. I wonder if the new Nokia "dumphones" like the one above are as durable as the old ones.

Competition is fierce, that makes products drop in price, otherwise it would be a monopoly.

I've dropped my S3 at least 10 times onto concrete and it hasn't cracked yet - but I have an A-case on it.  $11.  Saved my ass at least 10 times.  Doesn't make the phone bulky and is grippier than the stock plastic shell.

The Nokia dumbphones are pretty durable.  My old Motorola flip phone was actually not that durable.  Took a direct hit from a tennis ball and it popped the casing and went downhill from there.

it's called scale economies.. and it's partly the reason why laptop prices have gone up (relatively) in recent years. the demand for it is shrinking, so manufacturers need to make more margins on the laptops they sell.

demand in smart and mobile phones has increased, so manufactures can afford to make a small margin on each product they sell.
