I was in a group discussion recently where the concept of a verified merchant search engine where every merchant is verified and takes bitcoin was being discussed as a new community project to launch.
So you may see a big search engine launch soon with only bitcoin merchants and also tied to verification process to make sure each merchant is legit in their industry and region, licensed with the various states and such.
A huge trust factor play to push forth BTC. The group was interested in it being non-profit and no ppc ads.
It could completely revolutionize search industry.
The merchants that get in, pay a relatively minor verification fee and maybe a monthly fee to appear in all the serps, so it could have no ppc ads and become a cool alternative to the ppc giants like google/bing/yahoo.
This is interesting, If u hear any other news please keep us posted.. Are there any large auction style sites similar to paypal that accept bitcoin? I remember one a while back but not sure it ever took off. I listed some things there, but there wasnt much activity at the time. Im interested in starting up something like this, but not sure what I may be getting into.
