I have an account at local btc and have never used it, I just have for "just in case" I dont have any coins in my account either. I have 2FA set up. I received an email today saying that its been 2 weeks since I requested that I have my 2FA turned off, well, I never asked for that. So I went in and changed my password and made sure my 2FA was still on, and it was. It was also correct in the time that I last logged in,, approx a month ago.
So, what could have happened? I never click on any type of links that im not 100 percent sure that is safe, I dont use windows. I submitted a ticket asking what could have happened. But it looks like someone tried to turn off my 2FA. What scares me is if I had a ton of coins on the account and I didn't happen to look at my email, the 2fa could have been turned off. Im just wondering what methods were used and how did they get to the point of trying to remove the 2FA..
This has taught me a few things. ALWAYS use 2FA and never hold too many coins on any site.. Im just worried that my computer could still be effected somehow.
Any hints or help?
