Hey all

Sorry for making a new thread, but I saw klee closed the other two threads. This may be new info or it may be worthless (in which case I will close this topic) By chance I happened to come across the Viacoin, thread where people were talking about a whale, who invested in this coin : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=682186.msg7878988#msg7878988

The address of the so called "whale" : https://blockchain.info/address/1BoAzeau3NHzRd1Mq9BXebyG1cJ1FEbeKk

No when you scroll down the transactions list, you'll see a public note on one of the transactions, which reads : "I'm a guy from Ukraine. In Ukraine the Civil War and the Nazis kill innocent people. I have three small children and I fear for their lives. I want to get away from the war, but I did’t have enough money. Help me please. Send me some BTC. Save our souls."

That note was left there by BurtW (member on BitcoinTalk) to "tag" klee's stolen coins which he posted in the original thread. This tag was visible in the address that housed the stolen coins before the hacker used a mixer. Could it be that this is where the coins ended up, in hackers new address or is it just the address of someone who used the same mixer?

Well either way apparently people know who that specific "whale" is. So we might get some information.

I'd guess that they just got some of the coins that were in the mixer, but who knows.

I'm not really sure how the tags on Blockchain work, but it's possible that those were the coins from the mixer.

They used the same mixer. Klee's BTC entered the mixer, the thief got some other BTC, and stolen coins were left in the mixer. To be exact, there are no "coins" in the blockchain, just inputs and outputs.

The stolen coins will now appear in other people's wallets for a long time. The system is designed that way, following one of the core principles of Bitcoin: Fungibility. It doesn't matter if you have one coins or the other, they all have the same value.

klee is going to open up a self-moderated thread:

Note, please disregard the date on the first quote, i couldn't generate the quote as the original topic is locked.

Please don't listen to this troll.

I will close this topic and make a new self moderated one.

I will ask the partII thread owner to close it too..

@haploid23 lock this thread please, I will open a new self moderated one!

He will likely request that this one is closed so that all discussion on the matter can be focused on his new self-moderated thread (once it is posted).

Are you guys really saying this person stole someones coins because a 0.0001 BTC transaction ended up in his wallet?

Think this through.

It was just an observation I made, it may be possible or it may not.

In this transaction:

https://blockchain.info/tx/5e2664bea77bb903e9f90aa69f2f62c0ce796e4ab44cfd5c3b2bfe41974c1b9a

The "guy from Ukraine" posted his message begging for money to twenty different accounts, one of them happened to be the large account:

https://blockchain.info/address/1BoAzeau3NHzRd1Mq9BXebyG1cJ1FEbeKk

That is all.  There aint no more.  This is a dead end.

BTW your statement:

Is not correct.  I did not leave that message.  I did attempt to tag the stolen BTC with a small amount of BTC I sent from my firstbits vanity address 1BurtW.  That is all I did, and it was a total waste of time and BTC.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Ah okay, I thought it was you who left that note there. I'm locking this thread now, it's a dead end.
