Hi Everyone,

Apparently my IP address has just been banned by BTC-E.

I only visit the site once a week or so. I'm a savvy computer user (don't download stupid stuff, completely ignore suspicious e-mails, etc) so I don't see how my computer could possibly be compromised and participating in a DDoS attack.

Any ideas?  The "you have been banned" page gave me error number 1008.

I assume your IP is dynamically allocated by your ISP. I'm sure there is a short term fix, but long term fix would be to get a static IP.

My IP is static until I reset my router, which I just did for the first time in a few months.

So...? If I'm using a new IP now, why would it already be banned? (unless the person who had it before me was trying to hack BTC-E  Cheesy )

Is there no way to become unbanned? I don't want to have to resort to VPN's just to access my funds on BTC-E...

this is what I got from them  answers to my questions:

at 9:30 am BTC-E support writes me a message:

Today BTC-E support send me email that my problem from Ticket: #XWV-292-75104 is solved : hello, Account unlocked.

-I answer:

-BTC-E answer:
-Dear Customer, We unblocked your account, please try to log in again.Clean your cookies and cache, try to use a different browser.

what I did? - clean cookies and cache i try to use different browser.(OPERA AND INTERNET EXPLORER)
what's changed?-nothing,still i cant log in to my account.
Please HELP ME and take care of my business seriously.

  BTC-E  response:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting BTC-e.

You added this IP to the White list of IP addresses 83.........It looks like you're using a different IP now. Please choose the stated IP to log in (83.........). After that you'll be able to add other IPs to the White list of IPs.
If you add at least one IP-address to the white list of IP addresses, you won’t be able to access your account from other IP addresses that are not included in this list.
After adding / removing an IP address, withdrawals on your account will be blocked for 2 days for security reasons.
Please note that the settings will be applied the next time you log into your account. All of the old unsecured sessions (including the current one) will still have access to your account from any address.
This list does not apply to your API keys access. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to contact us again.
Best Regards,
BTC-e Support
