Aljazeera's program Witness had an item on international remittances last night on UK TV covering services such as Western Union.

Sadly they did not cover the elephant in the room: Bitcoin. But it did delve into corruption within the industry.

A very interesting document, especially when you look at the new 'innovative' services that are being launched in this space.

Well someone should comment on the site and mention the cheap alternative called "Bitcoin" to help these people.

It's a disgrace that these people have to work so hard and they are killed by HUGE transfer fees.

Only problem is, these people would just use bitcoin to transfer the funds, and then they would convert it to their own fiat currency and that will hurt the currency, if it's not offset by the extra demand for BTC
