I've spent literally years playing Lineage 2 and met great people there. The game was incredibly good, so good that I've never even tried WoW. I hope by the time they make L3 I won't get too old for gaming (can you even be too old for that?)
Good in what sense. All games have the tendency to make players spend a great deal of time farming for equipment and leveling.
Is Lineage 2 any different?
L2 allowed you to really bond with your clan members, by giving you a lot of cooperative tasks.
You had to decide where you want your base of operations to be and win a clan hall auction.
All clan members had to cooperate to level up clan skills, that gave you permanent bonuses.
Each clan could own a castle and a fortress. Different ones gave different passive bonuses and allowed you to tax stores around it.
Castle sieges were an incredible experience as you had to coordinate numerous independent parties, so the best clans had their complete chain of command.
Party leaders were taking orders from the clan leader during battle and relying these to their friends, this was sometimes a really hard task when you had 60 or more people protecting different walls and gates of your castle. Same with raids, it wasn't only about killing the boss, but you had to leave guards around it watching for enemy clan members, as they often tried to come from behind, kill you and steal the loot
The graphics was really nice and I loved the world. I played a lot of other MMO's like MU, Vindictus, GW2 or Tera, but all of them got boring after a while and none could compare to L2.
