If you are selling a service or product, you should really buy a domain.
If you can't even spend a few bucks on a domain, how can your customers believe you won't scammed their money?

Isn't the BTC system, itself, like one big system of gift cards? Anyone can create any denomination transaction, give the public key to someone, and that person can then access the funds - right?

It's great that there's a new option but what's the real difference between what exists currently? Is there better service or functionality or is it more about a better user interface?

If you are talking about public key, nope, it won't give you the ability to spend the bitcoin. But the private key will.

Nope, it is not great to have a new scammer...
