Dear BTC-e,
You probably was not aware before this moment but now I would like to inform you that many of your users do withdraw Bitcoins not to their personal wallets but directly to merchants. Your behavior when you deduct Bitcoin fee from the transferred amount ruin whole concept of Bitcoin e-commerce. Merchant get less amount then expected and therefor payment is not triggered by the merchant software. It leads to a lot of hassle.
Please, please, PLEASE!!! Do change your business model. If customer send X BTC then then receiver should get X BTC (not X-0.001 as it coming now). Deduct your fees from anywhere you want but not from transferred amount.

If this is BTC-e's policy, why not just withdraw to a local wallet first? BTC-e is an exchange, not an online wallet service.

If you aren't the sole controller of your private keys, you don't have any bitcoins.

what are you talking about.. it clearly shows you the amount that the receiver will receive under "You will receive:" this is the amount displayed at the bottom which is the Withdraw amount minus fees. so when you withdraw and you want a nice round number to go to the recipient then just add the 0.001 to your withdraw amount.. is it really that hard? |

I don't care how easy for BTC-e users to manipulate fees. I'm deeply convinced that it is bad UI design. Keeping transfer amount unchanged is the sane behavior and it must be default, without making users to do any efforts in order to get such behavior.
Deducting fee from transferred amount is insane behavior and it may be allowed but only and only if user explicitly chosen such behavior.
Is it really that hard to program with logic and convenience in mind?

Have you considered your customers are lazy or not too bright? BTC-e has a well designed set-up. |

I always consider that people are lazy and not bright. That why I demand standard option be default without any additional movement from the users needed.
BTC-e may have brilliantly designed set-up. But if this setup makes user forget that transferred amount will arrive not in full that brilliant sucks.

It's been over 24 hours since I initiated a withdrawal of btc from them. Nothing. I haven't tried to withdraw alt coins though.

It was not a withdrawal fee but Bitcoin network miner's fee. Though very inadequately represented.

I have just checked btc-e withdrawal interface. When I enter 0.7176 in the "Amount to withdrawal:" field, it shows "You will receive: 0.7166 BTC" in the next line. So IMHO, the situation is presented pretty clearly. As clear as the fee on your face.  |

Why then client sends me as a proof "Transaction history" but not that screen you described? That it is the point: situation represented pretty unclear. |
