Coinbase 4 day wait

Why does it take so long for coinbase to process transactions? I just don't understand why it would take 4 days to buy my BTC when the sale orders are already in, the price is locked, and I have the money available...?

They are ACH debits or credits to your bank account. These are never instant. Whenever you add money into your paypal account from your bank account, or withdraw from paypal into bank account, it's the same type of money movement and wait times.

If you are new customer to coinbase, they might delay you further in case the account information is stolen.
