I'd guess about 1% of the online world has heard of Bitcoin. One in twenty of that 1% actively using Bitcoin
I'd guess similar. The good news is that it means anyone reading this is a "Very early adopter"

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

Yeah It is lower than 1% and It's kind of cool that we are ones of that 1% Smiley But if ebay would start accepting bitcoin imagine how much % It will grow up, and for now only we know little internet "secret" which is called Bitcoin, kind of cool :} Sad that we can't take any advantages of Bitcoin now because at least I miss bitcoin price train =/

I think the actual number of people that use bitcoin is low compared to the number
that have heard about it but for whatever reason doesn't get involved. I think we have .01%
right? Not very many...

I think he have ~2 million users so if the value above is correct that would imply 0.03%.

So two million users? Does everyone agree with this number?

Also, the .03% is of active internet users? Is that correct?

IMO less than 1%
We are the choosen one LOL  Grin

There is so many problems buying bitcoin even with this low percentage of users,

now just imagine how would banks react if the percentage of bitcoin users would be 10-15 %

We are still early adopters, but that doesnt mean that the price of 500ish USD per bitcoin is justified, given that there is still so many opened questions and concerns.

We aren't even close to 1% yet, that number would be amazing. Sadly the number is small but is growing with time, as more and more merchants start accepting BTC more people know about it.

Sadly? Slow and steady still wins the race I believe.

Yeap. HODLING is the way to go people. Smiley When you have hodled long enough, selling won't be needed anymore. Cheesy

The only one who made research public based on data is Risto and that's what he got as a result if I recall correctly. For a large part it was based on the leaked MtGox database.
