I'm writing an article for CCN on how you can start using Bitcoin. As this is meant to help new people get started in the Bitcoin community, I'd like to hear what you would like to know about this topic. Please post your questions in this thread and I'll work to answer your questions in my guide. The link to my article will be posted here once it's been published. Thanks for your help!

Due to an article that BitcoinTalk didn't like that I wrote on CCN, my account is banned. Theymos refuses to reply to my request for hearing his side of the story instead of banning my account. Please sign my petition to get Theymos to unban my account. Thank you.

You could just ask them to Google. How does that sound?JK
They could startup by buying or offering their services or working for bitcoins.Getting paid in bitcoin is a good way to start I guess.Another be buying it for dollars.I wouldn't personally recommend someone to startup bitcoin from mining it's a hard deal rightnow. But can do mining on altcoins there are many out there and believe me they are gonna make you money as well and you can easily switch them with bitcoin from exchanges like btc-e.com.

I think all new users should learn some basic terminology - tx, blockchain,  mBTC, fee, wallet, confirmation, change addy ...
Briefly about wallet types (full client, lightweight, web, paper...) their pros and cons, how to use, pass protect, backup ...
How to buy BTC, list of bitcoin accepted service, roughly about mining, trading and other earnings.
maybe some warnings like many small transactions in single addy, do not lost pass or make backup, double check before payment confirmation, tips how to stay anonymous etc.

hope it helps

I think best for starters is to send coins to each to other wallet and check how it works.

The first 2 questions I wanted to know when I was a newbie are:
How can bitcoin work in a decentralized way?
What are the pros and cons of each of the popular wallet clients?

The first and most important thing to start using bitcoin is how to protect your wallet!

Best way to start using bitcoin is to take a job from someone 2,000 miles away without any forms and have them pay nothing in fees to instantaneously send you your pay after completing the job. As far as bitcoin's utilitarian purposes as a currency, that makes everything click pretty quick.

It sounds like it would be a good idea. I would recommend that you include things like wallet security and exchanges, ect, but most importantly would be to mention the law regarding bitcoin.
Although a very grey area indeed i think its best for newcomers to know what they could be getting into, no one needs a tax bill at end of year that they didn't know about.
Remember to post the link when finished, I would like to read this.

This is a great idea. I would definitely gear your writing towards newbies to be honest, how to get a wallet, how to secure it and keep it safe, the laws for bitcoins, keeping yourself safe when selling, buying and trading. The list could go on forever but if you do some research on using bitcoin and starting up using bitcoin and also some research one newbies using bitcoin it may give you some solid ideas on what to include in your writing. It's the main key points that I would focus on and build from there.

I think showing them how big of a topic bitcoin is.  Show they can play the market, mine, buy/sell btc.   Give some examples, show how really there is something for almost everyone.

You need to learn before starting to use bitcoin is, you have to know how to make a wallet, what is the function of the wallet, how to use the wallet, etc, and most importantly how to protect adaalah bitcoin wallet so you will not be lost, how to remove bitcoin into our wallet, etc.
When bitcoin we've collected, the next step we have to do is how to invest our bitcoin so the number will be growing, how to choose a safe and profitable investment, if you've learned it then you are ready to use bitcoin ...
Hopefully ...  Tongue

How easy is it to acquire bitcoin and avoid a high premium?  I think that is an important question to get answered and hopefully people can find better ways if the current options aren't up to snuff.  I like that you're workin on this article because it will be a good place to point people when they have questions and they will be able to learn more about the common questions others have who are new to Bitcoin.
