Make sure that you configure your site to only accept traffic from your own ip when setting up any software,forum, e-commerce scripts etc.

When it's installed, remove the block and allow everyone. The reason for this is that there's bots that automatically scans webservers for lots of install scripts once the webserver goes online, I had a south korean ip scanning for litterally all possible open source packages' install scripts on one of my servers.

This should be obvious, but still tossing it out there, in case someone doesn't think of it when setting up some software on their web-server.

Check the manual for your server software to find out how to do these blocks.
