I been looking at these .IO sites and was wondering why there are .IO and how we can get one. I run an altcoin and think Gytecoin.IO would be interesting to have.

Why is dot io so trendy these days? how is it better than net org or com?

I think it because .io is not watched by the whatever group that watches .coms and .orgs which is why most sites switched over on tor networks.
