I ordered a few S3s from Bitmain and they shipped them nice and quick, with a delivery estimate of Friday.  I checked this morning and the delivery estimate is gone and the message says:

The package is awaiting clearing agency review. / The package is at the clearing agency awaiting final release.

It hasn't moved all day and now Friday is looking unlikely.  Has anyone else had this issue?  How long does it take to clear customs?

Its about a 36 hour delay when they want to inspect. Some ports are super slow while others are rapid.

Gotta hate when things get stuck in customs, especially time critical stuff like mining gear. You're at their mercy, unfortunately. I'd say dogie is right, shouldn't take more then 3 days. Less if you're lucky.

Seems to always happen right before the weekend so you have to wait even longer.

Not as bad as this...

Quote
We've left the package in our facility. This may cause at least one business day delay. / Delivery will be rescheduled.

Driver turns up for a collection and says "I have no idea why they didn't load it"

WTF???  I got an "Export Scan," but now, the same message is back??? Could this be U.S. customs?  Also, the times are off.  How can 10:58 a.m. come after 8:34 P.M. on the same day?  I'm assuming this is local time, so maybe that means it made it to Alaska???

Thanks...  I've ordered a few times in the past, but I don't remember having this issue... maybe I just wasn't paying as close attention.

It happens unfortunately.  Customs can be hard to say can be hours or days.

My worst horror story is DHL.  Driver called during middle of work day said if I could drive to a town that was 1.5 hours aprox. away I could meet him and pick up my package...... After I told him I needed for him to drive it to my house he made it take a extra day and claimed he didn't have it the day before that it was on the airplane..... for over 24 hours after landing.  I hope to never have DHL shipping again.

I try to avoid DHL whenever I can...  By the way, the package has moved through customs (for a second time) and has apparently departed Anchorage Alaska.  Delivery estimate is tomorrow (again).

I find its the opposite in the UK. UPS is dire and DHL excellent. Every time I have a delivery or collection with UPS its guaranteed to go wrong. Either they do a ring and run, they 'forget' the package in the depot or troll with customs charges. You can't pay over the phone until it arrives in the UK which is at 4am, they load [or don't] at 7am, phones open at 8am. Or even better they tell you there is no charge over the phone, then the driver turns up demanding £100s in cash or no package.

DHL on the other hand texts me when something is on its way to me, when customs can be paid online (and how much) and on the morning of delivery. And then, it actually arrives.

Just in case anyone stumbles upon this thread...  the miners came on time, as originally estimated, even though they got hung up in customs both leaving China and arriving in the U.S.  Both delay were only a few hours.  As a credit to Bitmain, I ordered on Monday night...  miners shipped Wednesday and were at my door Friday morning.  Now if could only ROI, lol.

Thanks for the update. I'm staring at my Bitmain cart right now contemplating the purchase directly from the manufacturer. The fact that their price is by far the lowest makes it really hard to not want to push the checkout button  Tongue

I've not ordered from them in several months, but it was never a big deal when i did. the packages just got shipped and showed up.

Check with your custom (and try to ask what is the problem), sometimes they take weeks before releasing it to you, but if you call up and ask them then it might be faster alittle..
