You can either create your own lottery or try to win someone elses. You can easily verify our service by creating and playing your own lottery for a few cents.
This is how it would work from the lottery creator's point of view.
You create a semi-transaction which locks up the specified amount of your lottery. This will make sure no one can start a lotto for an amount they don't have.
Next, the creator will choose a secret # between 1-500. The creator will also require a minimum amount to participate.
So who ever pays the correct amount and the first one to guess the secret number will win the lottery.
And you will see EVERYONE'S guess in REAL TIME. So there won't be any questions about the fairness and honesty.
It will play out like this:
Bob wants to start a lotto. He makes the half transaction of 4 bitcoins. He makes the rules that whoever guesses his secret # between 1-999 will win 4 bitcoins. He determines that his secret # is 4. He also decides that the minimum to play is 0.005 bitcoins. Bob says the lotto will end in 3 hours. He says if no one guesses the correct # in 3 hours, half the lotto will be split amongst all the participants.
