There is no limit on how much you can send with bitcoin. The only limits you might come across is if you use an exchange as a way to purchase the coins originally. I do not believe you will have any trouble with $180 though.

Some exchanges like Virwox (https://www.virwox.com/help.php#_Levels_and_Limits) do have a very low purchase limit for new users, as they takes reversible payments and need to lower their risk.

There are no limits on Bitcoin transactions per se, however some online exchanges might impose a limit for new accounts.

The only limit of a transaction is the amount of BTC you have. And the dollar equivalent has nothing to go about anything in a bitcoin transaction, they are more or less the same since the first day(only thing that changed was the transaction fee I think).

Please read Bitcoin faq in bitcoin.org for the basics of how btc works

The transaction fee is very low and fixed no matter how many bitcoin you transfer.
But the fee you purchase bitcoin is another matter which decided by the exchange.

Transaction from wallet A to wallet B: no limit
Transaction from wallet to exchange: i think there is a limit on how much you can store depending on the exchange, same for withdrawals.

"Bitcoin really is one of the most important inventions ever made in the entire history of the world. It’s the first time in the entire history of the world that anyone can send or receive any amount of money with anyone anywhere else on the planet. And you don’t need permission from a bank or corporation, nor even governments for this matter. And you can send or receive any amount of money just like that for…practically, for free. And nothing like this has ever existed before in the entire history of the world. So it is really exciting to see this just blossoming and spreading to more and more people around the world."

This a weird question.

Unless you're buying on an exchange there shouldn't be any charges.

Is there a max for newbies?

I don't quite understand this one. Your account being a newbie on this forum does not have anything to do with how much you can send with Bitcoin.

And also, the Bitcoin transaction does not have any limit in terms of Dollar value. If you have 5 Bitcoins, you can send 5 Bitcoins, no matter how many Dollars they're worth. And there is virtually no limit on a number of Bitcoins you can send in one transaction. The only thing is, the bigger the amount the more fees you should include in the transaction so that it goes through the network quickly.

From LocalBitcoins, each seller has their own predetermined purchase limit.

If you go through Coinbase or Circle, they have weekly buy limits in place.  I believe Coinbase instant buy limit is currently set to $1000 USD.  Non-instant buys on Coinbase are $3,000 for a level 1 user and $50,000 for a level 2 user:

It depends on the bitcoin price (no max) and the bitcoin you have (theoretical max of about 21 mil).

For example, someone sent 217517 btc a month ago in one transaction, which has a current worth of 69 million USD.

theoretically there is a limit, it based on the current max amount of bitcoin, you certainly can't buy more than the available total amount of bitcoin
