Oh please.

Not to mention - why should that matter? Apple is still a heavily used platform and Bitcoin shouldn't just be aiming to be a currency for technical people.

i don't think so,
still many who use Apple products, the apple store get a lot of profit from the sale of its application,
so not be surprised if they make the "Apple Pay" Payment service.

It would be a good thing if Apple incorporated Bitcoin into the wallet pay thing.

That being said, I was disappointed in Apple today. There is nothing in the new iPhone that inspires me to purchase it, and watches are so 80's!

When they come out with something that is actually new, maybe I will be surprised.

It turns out the rumors were true, Apple has been putting together a new mobile payment service, and it introduced it on stage today as “Apple Pay.” The service involves adding your credit cards to Passbook, and waiving your iPhone in front of what looks like an NFC reader to pay for goods and services in-store.

Do you guys think this might destroy bitcoin?

well unless this apple payment plan does not take bitcoin and only cc payments they are missing the boat on a lot of 3rd world money...ie you pay with bitcoin it is as good as
cash ..no cc checks/applications etc....so if they don't take bitcoin imho or bitpay or whatever via their mobile payment app they are losing lots and lots of folks worldwide
w/o access to banks and or cc options

but what do I know I thought BTC would be like 1.2k usd by now!

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

There is bug hinted in any system whatever Paypal or Apple Pay, while the security system is safer, however, any payment besides Bitcoin is connected with banks. Once controlled by banks, the payment can't run away from the bank system which is not safer than the block chain of Bitcoin.

I see where your head is at but regulations, chargebacks and insurance make fiat far safer them Bitcoin in the present day. That may change making decentralized the best choice but at least for the meantime it's a fantasy to think otherwise.
