knowing that 90% of politicians are crackpots or have hidden agenda's.. would you donate to them? bitcoin is hoarded mainly by normal people, normal people do not donate to politicians, the majority of donations come from bankers, and corporations such as walmart, microsoft.. and we all know walmart is not in the bitcoin community. lastly if you are smart would you rather throw valuable gold/bitcoin at a politician or get rid of that ridiculous thing called paper money, that is truly known as 'debt'. in short if i was to donate, id prefer to keep hold of bitcoin gold and throw fiat at politicians

When I have a regular income I'm going to donate to the Liberty League here in the UK but the reason Bitcoin users aren't giving it to these politicians is yes, they're fucking corrupt, I'm gonna be blunt here but we also know more about politics and economics than most of your average voters so we wouldn't be caught dead giving Bitcoins to politicians we know are corrupt or have easily questioned beliefs. I would sooner give Bitcoin to a charity, a group like the Blender foundation ( who do accept Bitcoin by the way ) or an interesting open source project before I would give money to a politician, hell I'd pobably give away a fraction of a Bitcoin to a blatant scammer asking for money than a politician because at least I know they're corrupt in the first place.
Problem is now Journalists are going to think this means that Bitcoin is a failure if no one will give it to politicians lol.

Only big businessmen tends to do that to protect them from incrimination.

I'm sure no one wants to donate to these politicians, but if a right one came along they probably would. Usually politicians are in politics for all the wrong reasons.

Probably the bitcoin startups tend to donate. They want to lobby politician to make supportive regulation for their business.

I wouldn't even donate in fiat currency. Politicians are champions in making empty promises.
Just for that reason I will never donate a single penny.

Ron Paul inspired people to come out of the woodwork to donate on the hope that maybe he would have a chance of changing things from the way things are to actually making the government smaller.
It was more of an investment than anything. Since his defeat they are going back to where they sprouted out for and will likely not come back to donate for a long time.
For me, I think we are too far gone to be fixed. So I am planning accordingly.

I would donate, but there has to be a better reason than just accepting bitcoin. They have to prove that they are capable and willing to fight for my interests. I see few politicians who are going to do that. They seem mostly to be interested in getting rich(er).

About the only politician I'd donate BTC to is Rand Paul. And, that would be for a Prez run.

My opinion is that most people with Bitcoins and willing to donate don't see them as good people. That is they see all that they are doing, and they don't want to donate to them.

That is true. And unless you are an ultra rich donator, they don't care about you. It's sad to think people believe soetoro/obama cares about them at all. He's enriched himself and his pals, thats all. Look at who's incomes have gone up in the "recovery" its only the richest of the rich

I feel accepting bitcoins was just a publicity stunt by these politicians. They really haven't got the hang of it. Since donations are capped at $100, I can foresee politicians getting 'anonymous' donations of $100 from different addresses. This will stir up a hornet's nest.
