I don't think many people will want to use these kinds of services until it is possible to "live" off of bitcoin for extended periods of time (not just buy gyft cards). The two forbes articles (one from last year and one from this year) are two very good examples of how to gauge how realistic it is to live off of bitcoin.

Until this is a possibility, getting paid directly in bitcoin serves no real purpose above the possibility for someone to simply receive direct deposit and to use coinbase (or other similar service) to purchase bitcoin every time they are paid

Interesting theory I guess. But t the current btc market, it's not going to attract any experienced BTC user.

It's a long way for bitcoin to go until that actually happens. You can create technology but employees aren't looking to get paid in bitcoins yet.

Yes it can be a method of payment but I think in the future since bitcoin must be accepted from more companies. Also volatility is something that must be taken in consideration.
