I just loaded up a new install of Firefox and the first screen I saw was the request for a donation.  I remembered this thread and yep - no bitcoin option.

I actually was going to donate to them because I think Chrome sucks donkey balls (crashes on me 4x a week for no reason and feels clunky as hell to me anyway).

I love Firefox.  Feels well-programmed.  Tight.  And elegant compared to goofy Chrome which reminds me of a tin can for some reason.  AM Radio ...

But instead I wrote them this email:

--------------------------------------------------------------

donate(at)mozilla(dot)org

Subject:  I was going to donate but...

You removed the Bitcoin option.  So now I can't donate.

I was about to donate $20.

I keep all my online payment funds in my Bitcoin wallet.  Its faster, safer, and easier.

Sorry.
------------------------------------------------------------

Feel free to email that email address and act like you were going to give them a million dollars, because you like making online payments with Bitcoin, but now you can't.

-B-

Let me know if you hear back from them at all, I would love to see what they say to specific people asking to donate and them refusing to accept payment.

They don't refuse payment.  They are happy to receive bitcoin as payment, and have even provided a bitcoin donation page.  I suspect that if they respond to him at all, they'll just reply with a link to the Mozilla bitcoin donation page:
https://sendto.mozilla.org/page/content/give-bitcoin/

Why don't put a normal btc address , I think they will receive more donation if they use it. Because it will be all more transparent and public.

They used to have it in small letters on the main donation form, they took it off apparently. The direct link still works.

It decreased their revenue per visitor by 7.5%

https://fundraising.mozilla.org/bitcoin-donations-to-mozilla-17-days-in/

How do they blame Bitcoin for their loss?
It isn't very logical...

Nope not very logical at all.  Especially, since they based in a 17 day sample size.  That's not even a decent sample size!

Here's the direct link to Donate Bitcoin:

https://sendto.mozilla.org/page/content/give-bitcoin

Although, they have a direct link, from the main home page, it takes about 4 or 5 link clicks to get to this same exact direct link.  By comparison, it takes 1 or 2 clicks to get a Visa Paypal payment option.

Stupid irrational decision.

I agree with you.
It seems they don't think high about BTC and don't believe that many people will send them funds by BTC.
I hope this will change soon.

It is a normal coinbase function , and this is why it would be better a normal and public btc address.
